The best of being a model is show to the world the strongest part care for your body and hold the balance. The worst maybe the effort to be fine always despite of the problems and be judged only for the physical appearance

Interview with model Tomi Mikael Lappi
Do you believe people can change? Change their habits, physical appearance … what it takes?
Of course. Some change more than others and everybody’s growth journey is different and at his or her own pace. To me Change internally is about shedding parts of yourself, beliefs and habits that keep you stuck in your story and your narrative. Physically you can change as much as you want but when it happens from a place of compassion towards yourself you’re more likely to gain permanent results.
What’s your favorite person of all times? Why he/she inspires you?
Puff, I have so many. Instead of looking at one person who I admire I like to expand myself by parts of someone’s journey or their character. People like Oprah, Pietro Boselli and even close friends of mine make me see that if it’s possible for them, it’s possible for me too.
Is family important to you? Do you spend time with them?
Family is super important to me, and since I left Finland for the first time when I was in my early 20’s with I’ve gotten used to not seeing them as much as I’d like. I go to see them whenever I can. I think as an adult to truly be there for your family and to connect authentically you have to also gain true independence from them.
Are you currently in a relationship? What do you value.
I value transparency more than anything. Communication is the base for everything in every relationship dynamic, but true communication takes balls. It’s scary, it makes you vulnerable but it’s the only way to get to true intimacy. I’m not in a long-term relationship at the moment but I’m happier than ever on that sector – we get to be creative and write our own rules when it comes to these things.
What do you do in order to stay energetic and happy?
My best advice to stay energetic and happy is to eat well, sleep well and give to others. Giving to others is a positive selfish act because it’s a win-win dynamic. Try it, it makes you happier than doing yourself a favor – I promise.
Can you think of anything that might work positively during the period we stay home?
A whole lot of things actually, you get to rewrite your priorities, make friends with yourself and do some introspection on what’s been holding you back in ‘normal’ life. Is this an easy process? Fuck no. But if you get to nudge on the things that made you Unhappy or that you were unconscious about during ‘normal life’ you get to make some pretty amazing changes.
Favorite uplifting movies, series or music.
I’ve had two songs on repeat during this quarantine: Fleur East – Favourite Thing & Fran Coem – Tu Veneno, baby.
